Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Redline Communications for Its Innovative Mobile WiMAX Products, Designed to Greatly Benefit Both Subscribers and Operators

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Based on its recent analysis of the mobile WiMAX market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Redline Communications, Inc. with the 2008 North American Product Innovation Award.

Its innovative RedMAX 4C[TM] family of Mobile WiMAX technologies allow easy integration with its existing RedMAX[TM] products to maximize the coverage range and increase capacity. The product suite ensures high quality-of-service (QoS) and high return on investment (ROI) for subscribers and operators respectively.

Redline Communications' RedMAX 4C is designed based on the IEEE 802.16e standard for Mobile WiMAX to create an IP-based mobile WiMAX platform and consists of a family of base stations and subscriber devices that operate in 2.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz licensed frequency spectrums. Separate modems even allow for different usage models - RedMAX 4C RPM (RedMAX Personal Modem) for indoor deployment and RedMAX 4C REM (RedMAX Enterprise Modem) for outdoor deployment.

To optimize its performance and deliver high throughput, RedMAX adopts its fourth generation cross layer approach to maximize network performance. It incorporates the physical layer (OSI Layer 1) and medium access control (MAC) (OSI Layer 2) technologies, to implement a time division duplex (TDD) OFDMA-based WiMAX system. The end-to-end signal chain is then controlled from the radio to the core network. This method ensures low latency for real-time multimedia applications. Furthermore, power loss is eliminated by replacing the coaxial cables for connecting the chassis and remote radios with fiber optic cables.

The OBSAI is incorporated with the microTCA (Threshing Crossing Alerts) standards to be compliant with WiMAX specifications.
