Sun-Times News Group Launches New Zoned Home Builder Section Across the Chicago Area

Business Wire, June 11, 2008

Today's New Homes Offers Area Builders More Ways To Stretch Their Advertising Dollars And Succeed In A Challenging Environment

CHICAGO -- The Sun-Times News Group announced the launch of Today's New Homes, a vibrant new print product with a paid newspaper circulation of more than 700,000 that will allow Chicago home builders and developers to make their advertising dollars work harder to better reach local new home buyers.

Today's New Homes will feature different new home-themed advertorials each week, and increased zoning opportunities for builders who want to focus on the city as well as the north, west and south suburban regions. The new section features builder profiles, a battery of respected local columnists including Don DeBat and Linda Schweitzer, and a weekly themed story on topics ranging from "living green" to commuter-friendly communities to the best deals to be found in the new-homes market. All print advertising buys include online presence on the newspaper Web sites and at SearchChicago.com/homes.

"The Sun-Times News Group is dedicated to helping our advertising customers get the most out of every precious advertising dollar," said Cyrus Freidheim, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sun-Times Media Group, Inc., the parent company of the Sun-Times News Group. "Advertisers get the benefit of the Sun-Times News Group's broad reach; they can make a single order for multiple platforms through one ad rep; choose from an attractive array of print and online advertising packages; and, ultimately, get their messages out on why Chicagoans and suburbanites should take advantage of this market to buy a new home."

With Today's New Homes, the Sun-Times News Group can enable Chicago area builders to reach 2.8 million print readers each week (based on Scarborough research). Today's New Homes sections can be found in The Chicago Sun-Times, The Beacon News (Aurora), The Herald News (Joliet), Lake County News-Sun, The Courier News (Elgin), SouthtownStar, The Naperville Sun, and 51 Pioneer Press titles. Today's New Homes will run on Thursdays in the Pioneer Press newspapers (Wednesdays in Pioneer Press' West Zone) and on Fridays in the rest of the Sun-Times News Group newspapers. With Today's News Homes, builders can reach their target areas via multiple publications.
