Bernard Dan Joins MF Global as North American Chief Operating Officer

Former CEO of Chicago Board of Trade Strengthens Leadership Team
NEW YORK -- MF Global Ltd. (NYSE: MF), a leading broker of exchange-listed futures and options, today announced the appointment Bernard (Bernie) Dan as chief operating officer of the company's collective North American businesses. The appointment is the second in a series of executive hires and part of MF Global's overall plan to broaden and strengthen its senior leadership team as well as oversight of global operations.
Mr. Dan will assume responsibility for technology and operations including the control environment and overall administration for all MF Global's North American operating entities. Mr. Dan will also join the company's global executive management committee.

Mr. Dan previously headed the Chicago Board of Trade where he served as president and chief executive officer from November 2002 until July 2007 upon completion of the merger with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Prior to joining the CBOT in 2001, Mr. Dan served as president and chief executive officer of Cargill Investor Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cargill, Inc.
