Airband Communications Signs CMS as Master Agent, Further Expanding Indirect Sales Channel
Business Wire, June 16, 2008
More than 500 CMS subagents to offer Airband's WiMAX-based solutions
DALLAS -- Airband Communications, Inc., the industry's leading fixed-wireless company for businesses in the United States, today announced that Communication Management Services (CMS) has joined Airband's National Indirect Channel Program as a master agent. The CMS relationship strengthens Airband's ability to sell its WiMAX-based solutions nationally, including in Southern California where CMS is based.
Established in 1991, CMS is one of the nation's oldest and largest master agencies for telecom services. The company offers a full suite of telecom and convergence solutions including wireless and mobility solutions, customer premise equipment, local voice, long-distance, Internet and data hosting and conferencing solutions from a wide range of leading providers.
CMS signed the master agent agreement with Airband to further concentrate its focus and expertise on wireless and emerging technology solutions. During the past 14 years, CMS has been the largest wireline partner for a major carrier and that relationship has evolved into the wireless/cellular sector where CMS offers unparalleled sales and support capabilities allowing their agents to sell all the major wireless/cellular providers.
"We are very excited about our partnership with Airband," said Jeff Leshin, vice president of sales for CMS. "CMS has been on the forefront of the wireless expansion with our product mix and support, and we feel that Airband offers a great product that fits in nicely with our portfolio."
Launched in October 2007, Airband's National Indirect Channel Program has experienced rapid growth due to its unique product offering, simplified partnership agreement, and efficient payout process. Airband offers a comprehensive portfolio of high-speed data, virtual private network (VPN) and other managed solutions through its indirect channel partners. In addition, Airband provides dedicated support to agents through a team of field-based channel managers and sales engineers.
"Airband continues to quickly expand its indirect sales channel by signing leading master agents such as CMS, which extends Airband's overall market reach regionally and nationally," said Layne Levine, president of sales and marketing for Airband. "Our channel partners are strategic in delivering our high-bandwidth solutions to businesses for whom flexibility, scalability and rapid deployment are key."
Airband owns and operates the industry's leading fixed-wireless network based on WiMAX technology, and focuses solely on businesses. With more than 3,500 customers nationwide, the company is currently growing to new markets, and expanding coverage in existing markets including Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Baltimore; Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas/Fort Worth; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Greensboro, N.C.; Houston; Miami; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; San Antonio and Southern California.
