PANDUIT Highlights Consolidation, Virtualization, and Thermal Management Solutions at Cisco Live 2008

Business Wire,  June 16, 2008

TINLEY PARK, Ill. -- PANDUIT will exhibit leading data center technologies that address consolidation, virtualization, and thermal management issues during Cisco Live 2008, June 22-26 in Orlando, FL.

Specifically, the PANDUIT([R]) NET-ACCESS[TM] Server Cabinet Kit provides 10 GbE performance and faster installation using a comprehensive system that supports I/O consolidation through a top of rack switch deployment. As a result, the kit enables the Cisco(1) Nexus 5000 switch and computing resources to be located together within a single server cabinet.

To help support data center virtualization, the new PANDUIT([R]) PANVIEW iQ([TM]) System combines hardware and web-based software for intelligent monitoring of physical layer connectivity without requiring additional rack space. A new software suite, PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER[TM] supports the PANVIEW iQ([TM]) System with robust performance functions, including automated documentation of network connectivity, change notifications, asset management and reporting, virtualized mapping and work order management functions.

As the need for consolidation and virtualization increases, data centers require greater heat removal and cooling system efficiency. Effective thermal management within a cabinet is achieved with the PANDUIT([R]) NET-ACCESS[TM] Cooling Door. Placed directly at the heat source, the door reduces hot spots by removing up to 20 kW of heat generated from high-density server applications. PANDUIT has also developed the COOL BOOT([TM]) Raised Floor Air Sealing Grommet which safely routes and protects cables entering a rack or cabinet. It also allows a greater amount of conditioned air to cool network equipment minimizing the risk associated with overheating.

Conference attendees can visit PANDUIT booth #317 to view the comprehensive data center solution. Jeff Paliga, PANDUIT Global Solutions Development Manager, will also deliver "Trends in the Data Center" (STS3869) on June 24 at 4:00 p.m. in the Solutions Theater booth 518. The Vignette Corp. case study titled "Plug and Play Global Infrastructure Best Practices in Modular Data Center Design" (ITIPCS-1021) will be held on June 25 at 12:00 p.m. in room 414A, demonstrating how the Cisco / PANDUIT partnership met Vignette's objectives by providing a modular, flexible, global solution for evolving network requirements.
