Veraz Networks Announces JITC Certification, Joins Department of Defense's Approved Product List
Business Wire, June 17, 2008
Media Gateway Successfully Passes All Information Assurance and Interoperability Testing
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Veraz Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRAZ), the leading provider of Multimedia Generation Network application, control, and bandwidth optimization products, today announced that its I-Gate 4000 Edge media gateway network element is now listed on the Department of Defense's (DoD) Approved Product List (APL), becoming the third Veraz product on the APL. The I-Gate 4000 Edge has been certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) and received both Interoperability (IO) Certification and Information Assurance (IA) Accreditation. These certifications are required for all communication components connecting to the Defense Switched Network, which serves the DoD, all branches of the military, as well as other approved federal departments, agencies, allies and contractors.
The APL, created by the JITC for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), provides an increased level of confidence with regard to information security and interoperability for users in the U.S. Government community who buy and integrate communications equipment into their solutions. The certification requirements are of the highest level because the JITC is the operational testing body of the DISA, which is responsible for the global net-centric solutions that serve the needs of the President, Vice President, the Secretary of Defense, and other DoD components, under all conditions of peace and war.
"Obtaining the JITC certifications is not only essential for potential deployments within the Defense Switched Network, but also for other customers who require secure communications solutions with proven reliability under extreme conditions," said Araya Hailu, VP of Sales for North America for Veraz Networks. "We are extremely pleased to have had our media gateway validated under such a high level of scrutiny."
Veraz's I-Gate 4000 Edge media gateway is a compact, fully-redundant VoIP media gateway, designed for government entities that want to optimize network bandwidth while maintaining high quality of secure and non-secure services over wireline and wireless infrastructures.
