Unisfair Launches Virtual Job Fairs for Business
Business Wire, June 17, 2008
New Survey Shows Growing Demand for Global Recruiting Tools
MENLO PARK, Calif. -- Unisfair, the leading provider of virtual events, today launches Virtual Job Fairs for Business, the first online recruiting tool that delivers live interaction between recruiters and job seekers. The solution not only eliminates the costly travel associated with traditional job fairs, it also increases a recruiter's productivity and extends geographical reach--all without leaving the office.
According to a recent survey conducted by Unisfair, 64 percent of HR managers believe the hiring cycle could be reduced through virtual job fairs and as a result, 40 percent of hiring managers are currently exploring the technology. Respondents, which included more than 100 U.S. human resource managers, cited the most important reasons for hosting a virtual job fair as: ease of use (84%); ability to screen applicants (76%); reduced costs (75%) and access to candidates (72%).
"An aging workforce, combined with a shrinking talent pool and struggling economy, is putting a host of new pressures on organizations," says Guy Piekarz, CEO, Unisfair. "Virtual job fairs are helping HR professionals overcome recruiting challenges by enabling them to more cost effectively engage qualified job candidates without leaving their desks."
The easy to access Unisfair virtual environment uses 3-D rendering to replicate a convention center that features a main hall, an exhibition floor, a resource center and a job center. The company's Virtual Job Fairs feature both live and on demand components. During the virtual job fair itself, recruiters interact with job seekers in real-time and deliver presentations in the conference hall. Following the event, a hiring company can continue attracting candidates and building its brand through the virtual environment.

"We just conducted our first Virtual Job Fair in March that featured several corporate recruiters and the response both from the recruiting companies and the job seekers was so positive we are planning to do the next one in October," said Brad Pierson of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society. "The virtual job fair brought in higher-quality candidates internationally. A lot of currently employed people were able to attend, and because it was online we saw candidates from around the world."
