Business Wire, June 17, 2008
NORWALK, Conn. -- Pepperidge Farm now makes it easy for kids and parents alike to mix it up a little with the launch of Pepperidge Farm([R]) Goldfish([R]) Mix-Up Adventures - a wholesome, fun snack that celebrates two great tastes, all mixed up. Mix-Up Adventures offers the tasty combination of Xtra Cheddar Flavor Blasted and Pretzel Goldfish crackers mixed together - for a flavorful snack kids and adults will enjoy.
"We know that when it comes to snacking, kids love variety and parents have told us they often mix up different flavors of Goldfish crackers for their kids at home," said Michael Simon, Vice President/General Manager - Snacks Division at Pepperidge Farm. "In an effort to continue to provide kids and moms with convenient, fun, wholesome snacks, we decided to combine two of our great Goldfish flavors, Xtra Cheddar Flavor Blasted and Pretzel, into one fun, easy and tasty snack the entire family will enjoy."
Coinciding with the launch of Mix-Up Adventures, each package features the Goldfish characters Gilbert and Xtreme encouraging children to visit www.pfgoldfish.com to play a brand new Mix-Up Adventures game. Players can create their own animated story by choosing different places, heroes, villains, transportation and colors. The story then unfolds into a customized adventure. Are Gilbert and Xtreme superheroes or cowboys? Are they in the Secret Laboratory or on Planet X? Each time a player 'mixes it up' the story changes offering many variations. The interactive web site has additional games and other activities that allow kids to explore the world of Goldfish where they can get to know Finn and all of his friends. Parents are also encouraged to visit the site to engage with their children in these kid-safe activities.
Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Mix-Up Adventures snacks will be available June 16 at major supermarkets, grocery stores and mass merchandisers nationwide, with a suggested retail price of $2.19.
