Sybase Recognized Worldwide as "Best Place to Work"

Noted Nine Times in First Half of 2008 for Excellence in Workforce Engagement, Talent Management

DUBLIN, Calif. -- Sybase, Inc. In North America, Sybase received the following recognition:

* Sybase has received for the fourth time the "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area" award from the San Francisco Business Times, San Jose Business Journal and East Bay Business Times. This year the company ranked 13th in the mid-sized company category.

* Sybase has received the "Workplace Excellence Award" for the Greater Washington, D.C., area, given by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence, for the past four years.

* Sybase Canada has made Media Corp. Canada's "Top 100 Employers" list seven times, with Sybase's Waterloo, Canada, office ranked among the Top 10 employers in that region by the same group.

In Europe and Asia, Sybase received the following recognitions:

* Sybase operations in Beijing and Shanghai in China have been designated top employers by Netherlands-based research firm Corporate Research Foundation (CRF) for 2008.

* CRF also recognized Sybase UK as a "Top Employer" in the UK in 2008, and Sybase also was named a "Top IT Employer" by Computing in 2007.

* German magazine Junge Karriere bestowed upon Sybase the Fair Company Award, which is given to companies that offer graduates and interns fair opportunities in the job market.

* Earlier this spring, Sybase was included in the book "Britain's Top Employers 2008: Best Examples of HR Practice," which measured corporate HR policies against the qualities employees seek in an employer.
