Janney Montgomery Scott's Analysts on Top of Their Game - and the Charts - as they Receive Recognition

Business Wire,  June 23, 2008

PHILADELPHIA -- Janney Montgomery Scott LLC is proud to recognize three of their industry research analysts Debra G. Coy, Water Industry, Stephanie M. Krewson, REITs, and Mitchell B. Pinheiro, Packaged Food, for earning top spots in recent national rankings of the top brokerage analysts in the business.

Working in collaboration with StarMine and listed as part of their first annual World's Top Analysts awards, Financial Times awarded Coy with the honor of Top Stock Picker by Industry, as well as the Top Earnings Estimator (Water Utilities) in its U.S. report. Krewson was recognized on the same list as Top Stock Picker by Industry for Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs). Additionally, Krewson and Pinheiro were both recognized as the number three overall sell-side analysts for their respective industries in the Forbes Blue Chip Stock Analysts special report - published by Forbes.com and in collaboration with Zacks Investment Research - to identify the world's top stock analysts.

"This is a great accomplishment for Debra, Stephanie and Mitch," said Jordie Maine, Head of Equity Capital Markets. "But it only reiterates what I have come to know about these three distinguished and consummate professionals. Their achievements in their respective fields are a testament to not only their astute ability to accurately identify companies with either solid or faltering business prospects, but also to the dedication and commitment they show as trusted, expert resources for our Financial Consultants and our clients."

Coy joined Janney as a senior research analyst in August 2006, covering the water industry and environmental policy issues, which she has followed since 1989. She has created a unique franchise in covering the global water sector for investors and has been responsible for running the leading water conference on Wall Street during the past decade, as well as hosting Janney's annual water conference. In addition to appearing on CNBC, PBS's Wall Street Week and other investment broadcasts, Coy has published numerous articles in industry journals and is frequently quoted in financial and industry publications on water sector issues. Prior to joining Janney, she was an equity research analyst with the Stanford Washington Research Group. Coy received her M.A. in journalism from the University of Maryland.

Krewson has worked in the REIT space since 1994. She joined Janney in June 2007 from BB&T Capital Markets, where she was the senior REIT Analyst and built the firm's REIT franchise over nearly five years. Before her tenure at BB&T, Krewson worked as a sell-side analyst covering equity REITs at J.P. Morgan Chase and Salomon Smith Barney in New York City. Krewson also has served as Treasurer of a publicly-traded equity REIT. Covering REITs of all market capitalizations across the major asset classes, Krewson has, over the course of her accomplished career, distinguished herself by her rigorous valuation work based on detailed company models and in-depth knowledge of accounting. Her wealth of experience has helped lead Janney's initiatives within the real estate sector. Krewson simultaneously earned her undergraduate degrees in English and finance from the University of Pennsylvania's College of Arts and Science and The Wharton School.

Pinheiro joined Janney in 1984 and has been in the Research Department since January 1991. From March 2003 through March 2006, he served as Director of Research. His primary research coverage is the food and beverage industry. Pinheiro has ranked as "Best on the Street" in ten of the last fourteen years by The Wall Street Journal and three times as the number one analyst following the food group. In 2005, he was inducted into The Wall Street Journal's Analyst Hall of Fame. More recently, Pinheiro was ranked as the number one stock picker in the 2006 Forbes/Starmine rankings. A 1982 graduate of Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA) with a B.A. in economics, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Philadelphia.
