WGL Holdings, Inc. Named for the 2nd Consecutive Year Among Top Corporations in the Nation for Cultural Diversity by Black Enterprise Magazine

Business Wire,  June 24, 2008

WASHINGTON -- WGL Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:WGL), the parent company of Washington Gas and other energy-related subsidiaries, has been named for the 2nd consecutive year among the 40 Best Companies for Diversity, according to Black Enterprise magazine. The magazine examined 1,000 publicly traded companies and 50 leading global companies with major U.S. operations. As with the previous survey, four key areas: suppliers, senior management, workforce and corporate board diversity factored into the measurement of each company's diversity practices.

"For the second year in a row, Black Enterprise magazine has honored us for our commitment to diversity. Cultivating cultural diversity creates an environment in which all employees are eager to contribute to the overall success of the organization, fostering a feeling of achievement throughout the company and within the individual," said William Zeigler, Jr., Vice President of Human Resources for Washington Gas.

WGL Holdings' subsidiary, Washington Gas, participates in area job fairs and is a strong supporter of programs focusing on finding internship opportunities for high-performing minority college students. "Seeking out and employing a pool of diverse talent is part of a standard we are proud of and will to continue to uphold as we move forward as a company," said Zeigler.

The complete list of the 40 Best Companies for Diversity is scheduled for publication in the July 2008 issue of Black Enterprise magazine.
