Business Wire, June 25, 2008
NEW YORK -- UBS announced today that Matt Roux will join UBS Investment Bank's Prime Brokerage Group as Executive Director and Co-Head of US Securities Lending. He will run the US securities lending business with Mike Kelleher, who has been promoted to Co-Head of the business. Roux and Kelleher will be based in New York and report to Chris Hagstrom, Joint Global Head of Equity Finance within Equities Prime Brokerage.
"In these dynamic markets, we are committed to anticipating and addressing the evolving needs of our hedge fund clients," said Matt Pecot, Head of US Prime Brokerage. "Securities lending is a key offering within the full suite of products we offer, and Matt and Mike have complementary expertise to lead our efforts in this area. We are thrilled to have Matt join the team."
UBS's Equity Finance group encompasses securities lending and swaps. In these new roles, Roux and Kelleher will focus on securities lending and work closely with the swaps group to strengthen UBS's solutions-based approach to its hedge fund clients. Roux will begin at UBS in September, while Kelleher has been with UBS for eight years and was formerly responsible for the hedge fund coverage team.
Roux joins UBS from Deutsche Bank where he worked as a Director in both swaps and securities lending. He began his career at Citadel, where he spent seven years on the finance team in both Chicago and London.
