Safeco Insurance Foundation Announces Grants in Support of Red Cross Chapters in Iowa Flood Zone

SEATTLE -- The Safeco Insurance Foundation (NYSE:SAF) has announced a total of $20,000 in grants to American Red Cross chapters providing flood relief services to Iowa residents.
Both the Red Cross Grant Wood Area Chapter in Cedar Rapids and the Central Iowa Chapter based in Des Moines will receive $10,000 in funds for use in helping house victims displaced by the recent flood disaster and clean-up their homes and businesses once the floodwaters recede.
Virginia Anderson, president of the Safeco Insurance Foundation, said, "We are all overwhelmed by the reach of this devastation and the thousands of lives that have been disrupted in Iowa and throughout the Midwest. The Safeco Insurance Foundation is pleased to join in the efforts to support the communities most in need."
The Foundation has also granted $20,000 for disaster recovery to the Red Cross chapter based in Indianapolis for disaster relief support in central and southern Indiana.
