Chevron General Counsel To Deliver Keynote on Growing Role of Technology in Practice of Law
LOS ANGELES -- Lawyers from throughout the West and the nation's legal technology leaders will converge on Los Angeles later this week for LegalTech West Coast, the region's largest and most prestigious legal technology event. The conference and trade show, presented by ALM Events in partnership with the Los Angeles County Bar Association, will take place Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. LegalTech West Coast is expected to attract thousands of attendees and will present more than 30 educational sessions and feature more than 130 technology exhibitors. Complete conference information is available at www.legaltechshow.com.
Last year, the nation's 200 largest law firms spent an estimated $3 billion on information technology, including products and services from a wide variety of vendors such as Kroll OnTrack, Lexis/Nexis and Thomson/West.
Legal Tech West Coast will feature keynote addresses by Charles James, vice president and general counsel of Chevron Corporation ("New Technology in the Modern Corporate Law Department -- Make, Buy or Wait?") and Elizabeth D. Laporte, United States Magistrate Judge for the Northern District of California ("From a Judicial Perspective: the Federal Amended E-Discovery Rules.")
"I look forward to sharing real stories about our efforts to give our legal teams the technology they need to succeed, while controlling costs and running a large-scale, multinational enterprise," said James.
