Allis-Chalmers Energy and Bronco Drilling Company Set Record Dates for Stockholders Meetings on Pending Merger

HOUSTON & EDMOND, Okla. -- Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. (NYSE:ALY) and Bronco Drilling Company, Inc. (NASDAQ/GM:BRNC) announced today that they each have set record dates for their respective special meetings of stockholders relating to the amended merger agreement providing for the acquisition of Bronco Drilling Company, Inc. by Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. The amended merger agreement, which was previously announced on June 2, 2008, provides that at the effective time of the merger, stockholders of Bronco Drilling will receive aggregate merger consideration comprised of (a) $200 million in cash and (b) 16,846,500 shares of Allis-Chalmers common stock.
Allis-Chalmers plans to submit the issuance of Allis-Chalmers common stock in the merger to the stockholders of Allis-Chalmers for approval at a special meeting of stockholders to be held on a date still to be determined and announced. The Allis-Chalmers board of directors has set a record date of June 30, 2008 for this special meeting of stockholders.
Bronco plans to submit the amended merger agreement to the stockholders of Bronco for adoption at a special meeting of stockholders to be held on a date still to be determined and announced. Bronco has set a record date of June 30, 2008 for this special meeting of stockholders.
