Harmonic's Digital Video and HFC Solutions Earn Excellent Ratings in BGR's Diamond Technology Reviews

- Panel of Industry Experts Honor Harmonic's Direct-to-Edge, MediaPrism[TM], DiviCom[R] Ion[TM], and PWRLink[TM] 1310 DWDM Solutions -

PHILADELPHIA -- Harmonic Inc. (NASDAQ:HLIT) today announced that its Direct-to-Edge cable IPTV solution, MediaPrism[TM] on-demand content preparation software, and PWRLink[TM] 1310 nm DWDM transmitters have earned 4-star ratings in Broadband Gear Report's (BGR) 2008 Diamond Technology Reviews. According to BGR, a 4-star rating indicates excellent products with technical features and performance that provide clear and substantial benefits. Harmonic's DiviCom[R] Ion[TM] encoder earned a score of 3.5 diamonds, also considered outstanding. In last year's ranking, Harmonic's DiviCom Electra[R] 7000 high definition MPEG-4 AVC encoder received a perfect 5-diamond score, the first and only product to have ever received a top rating since the introduction of Diamond Technology Reviews in 2005.
