Keystone Authentication([TM]) Solution for Online Applications

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- AP Technology announced today the availability of a state-of-the-art, tri-level authentication and verification solution. The solution, called Keystone Authentication, provides three security components for a multi-layered approach to front-end authentication and maximum protection against data-corrupting man-in-the-middle (MIM) attacks. Customers benefit by incorporating single-, dual- or tri-levels of interoperable security to match user security requirements for online applications.

"Due to the increase in unauthorized security access, a stronger industry solution was needed to prevent users from gaining improper access to valuable data, accounts, and information," said Richard Love, CEO of AP Technology. "Our customers in the financial services arena require the strongest security solutions available to insure client information and data are never compromised. They also need multiple layers of protection including protection against MIM attacks in a solution that is convenient to deploy and use." AP Technology's tri-level authentication solution is currently meeting the secure access demands for online banking applications, such as bank official check printing, remote check printing, and positive pay services.

Keystone Authentication is a one-time password architecture that offers three standard options. Option one is an image-based CodeSheet that provides tri-level access security by enabling user-unique authentication challenges, one-time password user authentication, and anti-phishing protection via a Keystone Identifier Image that is unique to the user's CodeSheet. Option two is a Visual Signing Technology that combines standard PIN security with one-time password authentication and is the backbone for advanced transaction verification. Option three combines standard username / password technology for authentication with Visual Signing Technology when high-risk transactions, such as money transfer requests, are made. The combined technology allows applications to continue providing user-friendly authentication with stronger MIM protection required only when a user performs a high-risk function. System users can conveniently access Keystone Authentication password-generators via a desktop application, their cell phone, or other mobile devices.

Keystone Authentication provides tri-level authentication:

* something the user knows (a Username, Password, or PIN)

* something the user has (Codesheet / Visual Signing Application Device (USB, Camera-Phone))

* something the user is associated with (Anti-Phishing Identifier Image / Transaction Verification Data)

This unique solution reclaims customer trust in the online environment by offering extensible authentication for website, email, ATM / Card, and transaction channels. The Keystone Authentication method can be applied on a user-by-user basis, and the technology can be layered with existing single sign-on authentication. Additional security is possible with optional PIN protected hardware (USB or Camera Phone) devices. Financial services and other sectors, from healthcare to insurance, can significantly improve their application security by integrating the Keystone tri-level authentication solution.

"AP Technology continues to develop industry-leading security solutions that protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, phishing attempts, man-in-the-middle attacks and more," said Richard Love. "We help customers prevent security breaches that cause irreversible damage in terms of an institution's reputation and bottom line."
