SPEECHTEK ANNOUNCES 2008 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
The world's most famous former computer hacker, a renowned futurist and inventor, and a thought leader in customer experience management will discuss how speech technology will impact their particular fields in keynote addresses at the 14th annual SpeechTEK Conference and Exposition, August 18-20 at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Organizers of SpeechTEK 2008 announced today that futurist Ray Kurzweil, author of The Age of Spiritual Machines and The Age of Intelligent Machines; consumer management expert Lior Arussy, author of Excellence EveryDay: Making the Daily Choice - Inspire Your Employees and Amaze Your Customers; and computer security expert Kevin Mitnick, formerly known as the world's foremost computer hacker, will present their unique perspectives on how our lives are going to be affected by business and personal applications of speech technology.
Monday Keynote, August 18, 9:00 AM: Speech in the Mainstream and Beyond
Ray Kurzweil says that by the time children born today graduate from college, poverty, disease and reliance on fossil fuels will be a thing of the past. He also says that computers will surpass humans in intelligence by 2027. The inventor of the flatbed scanner, electric piano, large vocabulary speech recognition software and one of the most distinguished speech technology innovators of our time will share his views on how speech will work in conjunction with other emerging technologies to bring us to an age of intelligent machines.
Tuesday Keynote, August 19, 9:00 AM: Preparing for the New Customer
Lior Arussy's company, Strativity Group, advises Global 2000 companies and emerging businesses around the world. Author, visionary, consultant and creative catalyst for delightful customer experiences and profitable customer strategies, Arussy will address the biggest customer strategy issues facing organizations today. Mr. Arussy's accomplishments have been recognized by leading press and analysts such as ABC, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The Times of London and Gartner.
Wednesday Keynote, August 20, 9:00 AM: The Art of Deception: Are You Being Conned?
As the world's most famous (former) hacker, Kevin Mitnick has been the subject of countless news and magazine articles published throughout the world.
With more than fifteen years of experience in exploring computer security, Mr. Mitnick is a largely self-taught expert in exposing the vulnerabilities of complex operating systems and telecommunications devices. His hobby as an adolescent consisted of studying methods, tactics, and strategies used to circumvent computer security, and to learn more about how computer systems and telecommunication systems work. In building this body of knowledge, Kevin gained unauthorized access to computer systems at some of the largest corporations on the planet and penetrated some of the most resilient computer systems ever developed. He has used both technical and non-technical means to obtain the source code to various operating systems and telecommunications devices to study their vulnerabilities and their inner workings.
