Weyerhaeuser Wins Best of Show at NIRI Seattle's Investor Communications Awards Gala

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) announced today that Weyerhaeuser's 2007 annual report won "Best of Show" at the 2008 Investor Communications Awards Gala held June 26. Seattle Genetics won Best in Show among Biopharma/Healthcare entries, a new category this year.
Twenty-one Northwest companies submitted annual reports, investor web sites and 10Ks for consideration. Weyerhaeuser's report won awards for best financial presentation and best letter/narrative in addition to best of show, and Itron's report was recognized for best overall design. Starbucks received top honors for best corporate social responsibility report, and Alaska Air Group was recognized for best stand-alone 10-K.
The Seattle Chapter initiated a volunteer recognition award this year, sponsored by The Abernathy MacGregor Group. Award recipients were Jan Woodard, Lisa Weeks, John Snyder, Peggy Pinkston, Shannon Alberts, and Barbara Garland.
Helene Jaillet of Lumera was presented the President's Award.
