Beceem's WiMAX Chipset Enables Laptop From Acer to Showcase Leading Edge Mobile Computing and Entertainment Experience on Fitel's New Mobile WiMAX Network
TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Beceem, a leading supplier of high-performance Mobile WiMAX solutions, announced today that Fitel, a leading wireless service provider in Taiwan, and Acer, one of the world's leading branded PC vendors, are providing Computex visitors a view of the Mobile Broadband Computing future by showcasing Acer's Aspire multimedia and productivity laptop connected to Fitel's high-speed Mobile WiMAX network using Beceem's high-performance BCS200 Mobile WiMAX chip.
The Acer Aspire offers the ultimate entertainment and productivity applications, and is the first notebook enhanced with an embedded Mobile WiMAX modem that is using Beceem's latest Mobile WiMAX chipset. Beceem's chip is enabling world leading WiMAX performance of more than 30 Mbps application layer throughput in MIMO mode, allowing Computex visitors to experience the power of Mobile WiMAX products and services that will be launched by Fitel in the 4th quarter of 2008.
