Global Crown Capital Hires Veteran Telecom Analyst
Business Wire, June 3, 2008
SAN FRANCISCO -- Global Crown Capital, LLC ("GCC"), a San Francisco based research-driven boutique investment firm announced that Tero Kuittinen joined the firm as Senior Executive Director, Global Equity Research. Mr. Kuittinen joined GCC from Avian Securities, where he was a managing director in charge of the telecom research. Over the past decade, Mr. Kuittinen has become one of the most widely recognized Finnish experts on the mobile handset industry.
Mr. Kuittinen began his telecom career in 1999 as one of the founders of a pioneering mobile entertainment start-up company, SpringToys, in Helsinki. He worked as a senior strategist in the mobile content sector and as a telecom research analyst in one of Scandinavia's largest banking groups, Osuuspankki, until 2003. That year he joined the telecom research group of Paul Sagawa at Sanford C. Bernstein in New York; Mr. Kuittinen has continued working on Wall Street covering the telecom sector since then.
Mr. Kuittinen is quoted regularly in the European and US media and gives presentations at telecom conferences from Los Angeles and Las Vegas to Dublin and Helsinki. He taps into the collective intelligence of his extensive network of start-up, operator and financial sector contacts in Europe and Asia - a network of mobile handset professionals he began constructing back in 1996. He received a Master's degree in biochemistry and was enrolled in a neurobiology Ph.D. program at the University of Helsinki when the mobile telecom revolution sweeping Finland persuaded him to change career track.
Rani Jarkas, Global Crown Capital's Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer said, "We are establishing global coverage of the telecom industry and creating one of the best research teams on the Street. Tero is deeply entrenched in the telecom industry, passionate about the space and well-connected in Europe."
"I am very enthusiastic about the opportunity to create a dynamic mobile telecom team at Global Crown Capital. We intend to provide breath and depth to our scope of telecom research - encompassing mobile handset, operator, infrastructure and software sectors," said Mr. Kuittinen.
