Business Wire, June 30, 2008

WASHINGTON -- The 990 Coalition for Hospitals has launched a new web site to provide resources to help hospital professionals complete the revised Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990 and new Schedule H for use by hospitals.

Website resources include:

* A central source for current information on IRS's activities and instructions

* Annotation of IRS 990 Schedule H with expert advice

* Resources on completing the IRS 990 and Schedule H

* An online forum for sharing information on planning and implementation efforts

* Announcements of educational programs regarding the IRS 990 and community benefit.

About the 990 Coalition for Hospitals

The 990 Coalition for Hospitals was established by four national organizations with longstanding experience in the areas of community benefit and hospital tax exemption: the American Health Lawyers Association, the Catholic Health Association of the United States, the Healthcare Financial Management Association, and VHA Inc. The mission of the 990 Coalition for Hospitals is to promote accurate and standardized reporting of community benefit and related information on the revised IRS Form 990 and Schedule H by not-for-profit hospitals.

In addition to collaborating on and disseminating industry guidance, the 990 Coalition for Hospitals also provides technical assistance to the IRS Exempt Organizations Division as it develops instructions for the revised IRS Form 990 and Schedule H by sharing expertise of coalition staff and member organizations.

For more information about the coalition, please contact Julie Trocchio, Senior Director Community Benefit and Continuing Care, Catholic Health Association of the United States, at (202)721-6320 or jtrocchio@chausa.org.
