MMTG Inc. Signs Exclusive Software Licensing Agreement with LogistiCare Solutions LLC
Business Wire, June 4, 2008
TROY, N.Y. -- Medical Management Technology Group (MMTG) of Troy, New York, is pleased to announce an exclusive software licensing agreement with LogistiCare Solutions LLC to provide a custom transportation management suite for members of LogistiCare's transportation subcontractor network. This new browser-based set of software tools results from a joint development effort between MMTG and Provado Solutions, a LogistiCare software development subsidiary. The product has been tested by LogistiCare subcontractors in Nevada and Oklahoma and is now being offered for free to all 1100 LogistiCare providers nationwide.
"We evaluated many third party transportation management software packages to find one that can help our provider base become more efficient in running their businesses and at the same time interface easily with our LogistiCare software," said John Shermyen, CEO of LogistiCare. "MMTG really understands the challenges of running a small transportation business in these difficult times. By sharing our intellectual property and expertise, we can reduce back office expenses for our providers and help them be more efficient and profitable."
The new software allows transportation providers with Internet access to download trips assigned to them by LogistiCare, create efficient vehicle routes, and print a bar-coded driver manifest containing all important trip information. After completing trips, recording trip outcomes (pick up times, rider no shows, etc), and obtaining rider signatures, the completed driver manifest is faxed back to LogistiCare for processing. The manifest bar code identifies the trip, and a series of advanced imaging processes, Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR), are used to record trip outcome information and verify the rider and driver signatures. If information is complete and matches trip data in the LogistiCare database, this process provides LogistiCare all it needs to process provider payments.
The announcement comes just weeks after MMTG completed a six month pilot of its Medify product in upstate New York. MMTG worked closely with the Department Of Health Transportation Division and Greene County Department of Social Services to carry out the pilot of its signature verification system. The product yielded significant time and cost savings with its more efficient authorization and tracking of transportation services covered by Medicaid.
"We are excited about our partnership with LogistiCare. With the largest management company in the non emergency medical transportation space, we feel that our software will reach a much bigger community and make a positive contribution to the transportation industry through LogistiCare's network and participation," said Jay Hamel, CEO of MMTG.
