AIG American General Appoints John Rafferty Vice President of Annuity Marketing

HOUSTON -- AIG American General announced today the appointment of John Rafferty, 44, as vice president of marketing for AIG American General's Annuity profit center. In this newly created position, Rafferty will be responsible for organizing the marketing strategies and direction for both the growing retail and group annuity business segments that offer deferred and immediate income annuity products.
"John comes to us with a broad financial services perspective and 20 years of financial services experience," said Durr Sexton, president, AIG American General Annuity profit center. "His knowledge of product positioning and development of sales concepts and strategies will help producers and contract owners alike achieve their financial goals and objectives."
Rafferty holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Colby College, Waterville, ME, and a master of arts in public policy and economics from Trinity College, Hartford, CT.
