Alpine Biomed Creates Platform to Support Rapid Growth with QAD Software as a Service (SaaS) Offering
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- QAD, Inc (Nasdaq:QADI), a leading provider of enterprise software and services for global manufacturers, announced today that Alpine Biomed, a global leader in specialty diagnostic devices, has chosen to implement QAD Enterprise Applications using QAD On Demand Solutions -- QAD's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. Alpine Biomed designs, manufacturers and distributes diagnostic equipment and accessories for the gastroenterology and neurology clinical markets.
Alpine Biomed selected QAD's Life Science Vertical Business Solution coupled with QAD's Service and Support Solution delivered through QAD On Demand SaaS model to support its strategic growth objectives and maintain a lean, focused IT organization. "Alpine is achieving rapid growth and expansion of our business through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. The QAD On Demand offering provides us with a comprehensive system, that can integrate new acquisitions and joint ventures rapidly," said Cliff Oman, chief information officer for Alpine Biomed. "It enables us to continue operating as a lean and efficient team that can focus our time and talent on Alpine Biomed's long-term, strategic vision. And, because of QAD's industry acumen for the life sciences marketplace, we were able to implement the ERP system very quickly."
"Today's leading health care manufacturing companies need enterprise solutions that provide the utmost agility for the rapidly shifting global marketplace. QAD On Demand Solutions give companies like Alpine one of the best enterprise applications suite available, with the ease and convenience of on-demand delivery," said Pam Lopker, president and founder of QAD. QAD On Demand Solutions support our vision for the Perfect Lean Market, disseminating Lean concepts and practices throughout the extended enterprise."
Alpine Biomed has worked closely with QAD Global Services throughout the project. "We've been pleased with the results our teams have achieved together to date. For example, we set up 32 global printers within a day of submitting a ticket. Prior to working with QAD, it would have taken much longer to complete," said Oman. Alpine Biomed kicked off its QAD On Demand implementation in early April 2008, and is on target to take the entire company live this fall. "Leveraging on-demand deployment streamlined a lot of the issues that typically slow down implementations. We saved at least two months of set-up time on the front end of the project. With every line item, we've saved significant time," said Oman.
QAD Enterprise Applications are designed to streamline the management of manufacturing operations, supply chains, financials, customers, technology, and business performance all in one suite.
