Patni VP Steve Jolley Joins FDA Leader to co-present on Pharmacovigilance and Risk Assessment at June 22 Event
BOSTON -- Patni Computer Systems (NYSE: PTI), a leading global IT services provider, today announced that Steve T. Jolley, Vice President of Pharmacovigilance at Patni Life Sciences, will co-present with Carol L. Krueger, BSN, RN, with the FDA's Surveillance Programs Team, at the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, at the Drug Information Association's 44th Annual Meeting on June 22 - 25 in Boston.
Jolley and Krueger will present a tutorial on "Pharmacovigilance Assessment and Risk Management: Essential Components to Good Pharmacovigilance Practice". The session, designed for professionals working in pharmacovigilance and drug safety, clinical research and regulatory affairs, is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
Jolley is Patni's subject matter expert in all areas of pharmacovigilance, with responsibility for developing and delivering solutions surrounding pharmacovigilance-related policies, processes, systems and infrastructure. He has more than 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical arena.
"As pharmaceutical companies face an increasingly complex set of international regulations, demonstrating commitment to Good Pharmacovigilance Practice is essential to drug development and commercialization," Jolley said. "Those who perform thorough assessments, develop pre- and post-market risk surveillance programs, and keep up with updates to existing government guidances and regulations will position themselves for success in this challenging market."
Jolley, who is active in pharmaceutical industry forums, participated in a "think tank" meeting on Pharmacovigilance and data mining involving 60 select industry leaders last week at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville, MD. The workshop, "Best Practices in Pharmacovigilance: Developing Standards for Data Mining," was organized by the Center for Drugs and Public Policy at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. Professionals from academia, industry, government and regulatory agencies were selected because of their expertise and ongoing involvement in data mining.
