A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings of Motor Club Insurance Association Following Merger into Auto Club Insurance Association

Business Wire, March 12, 2008

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating (FSR) of A (Excellent) and issuer credit rating (ICR) of "a " and assigned a category NR-5 (Not Formally Followed) to Motor Club Insurance Association (MCIA) (Omaha, NE).

These rating actions follow the announcement that MCIA has merged with its sister company, Auto Club Insurance Association (ACIA), a member of the Auto Club Group, as of December 31, 2007. All companies are domiciled in Dearborn, MI, except where specified.

As part of the merger, ACIA assumed all of the liabilities and obligations under and according to the terms of the policies issued by MCIA. As a result, policyholders of MCIA and ACIA will now be insured by ACIA. ACIA's FSR of A (Excellent) and ICR of "a " are unchanged by this transaction and remain in line with its parent. The outlook for both ratings is stable.
