Business Wire, March 13, 2008
Award recognizes revolutionary inSIM[R] embedded SIM
ISSY-LES-MOULINEAUX, France -- Regulatory News:
Wavecom S.A. (Paris:AVM) (NASDAQ:WVCM) received the distinction of being awarded the 2008 trophy for innovation at a ceremony organized by the group Automotive Design (ADN) Center of PSA in Velizy (France) last Monday, March 10. This year's award for innovation was given to Wavecom in recognition of its revolutionary inSIM[R] embedded SIM concept.
The robust, industrial design of the inSIM[R] ensures proper functioning in harsh climatic conditions such as extremes of temperature, vibration and humidity which reduces the risk of disconnected devices that are often linked to high-value, time-sensitive transactional data.
Being recognized by the automotive sector is particularly significant since it is a true standard for innovation, quality and reliability. Wavecom's inSIM[R] was developed in collaboration with Wavecom's expertise and automotive engineers. It draws on the specific automotive experience and goes one step further in wireless communication for the automotive industry.
Michel Alard, Wavecom President accepted the honor stating, "Receiving an award is always gratifying, especially since it confirms that what were doing is inline with what the market needs. We are particularly proud of the embedded SIM concept (inSIM[R]) and being recognized by the PSA Peugeot Citro[R]n group is a true distinction."
