Business Wire, March 17, 2008
Recently ranked the #1* global FoIP solution for the 6th consecutive year, Sagem-Interstar's XMediusFAX([R]) Fax over IP (FoIP) solution now features Cisco Unified Communication Manager 6.1 support to further leverage Cisco VoIP and IP Telephony platforms, improve collaboration, and streamline workflow and productivity.
MONTREAL -- Sagem-Interstar Inc. (Sagem Communications), the global leader in advanced fax solutions for IP networks, announced today that its new XMediusFAX 5.5.2 fax server will support Cisco Unified Communication Manager, version 6.1, using SIP trunking. This will enable SIP deployments to be standardized across the network, thereby ensuring higher interoperability with SIP providers.
Sagem-Interstar's (www.faxserver.com) XMediusFAX Release 5.5.2 will be showcased at this week's VoiceCon Orlando 2008 event (Booth 1212), which highlights how to build and leverage unified enterprise communications. VoiceCon is being held March 17-20 at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, Orlando, FL.
XMediusFAX Release 5.5.2 is the latest evolution of Sagem-Interstar's market-leading, boardless (software-only) T.38 FoIP server software. It also features a unique, built-in Python scripting capability for easy and customizable integration with a wide range of critical business applications to enhance document processing and workflow. XMediusFAX offers increased flexibility in fax routing, and a new Split Fax function that allows users to manipulate individual fax pages online. XMediusFAX FoIP enables organizations to boost productivity, save money, achieve regulatory compliance, and streamline administration.
"Consistent with this year's VoiceCon theme, our XMediusFAX FoIP solution enables customers to profitably leverage their IP Telephony and Unified Communications implementations and bring all their fax traffic online," said Jean Champagne, General Manager of Sagem-Interstar. "XMediusFAX excels at drastically reducing fax infrastructure by routing fax transmissions over IP networks and onto the desktop. And our support for Cisco Unified Communication Manager 6.1 using SIP trunking demonstrates our continued R&D leadership and further strengthens our position as the #1 FoIP solution in the Cisco VoIP marketplace."

XMediusFAX supports automated faxing from ERP/CRM and document-management systems, routing to multiple destinations, and provides real-time fax delivery to support business workflow and collaboration.
* Substantial Cost Savings: Eliminates expensive dedicated analog fax lines, fax boards and other fax hardware, maintenance fees and supplies.
* Improved Document Management, Security and Regulatory Compliance: Provides secure archiving and audit trails for all incoming and outgoing fax documents, including ones that are transmitted via MFPs, to facilitate regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI Compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley), as well as security and privacy protection for confidential documents.
* Streamlined Administration: Centralizes all fax transmissions thereby leveraging existing UC components, and is a solid fit for virtualization strategies because the boardless XMediusFAX FoIP enables IT staff to efficiently combine and manage common resources for diverse applications, further enhancing IP Telephony and Unified Communications deployments.
