Willamette HDL Offers OVM Training Through Mentor Graphics Education Services
Business Wire, March 18, 2008
Named Mentor Graphics Primary Training Partner for OVM
BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Willamette HDL, Inc., a leading provider of system-level design and verification training, has expanded its training course offerings to include classes on the Open Verification Methodology (OVM) for SystemVerilog.
The three-day course, available through Mentor Graphics Corporation Education Services and Willamette HDL, includes a mix of lectures and hands-on lab exercises. The first class was held February 4, with 12 more scheduled through February and March.
Additionally, Willamette HDL has been designated Mentor Graphics' primary training partner for OVM and will train Mentor Graphics' application engineers and other technical groups on the use of OVM. This designation follows a long-standing and close working relationship between Mentor Graphics and Willamette. For example, Mentor Graphics' Verification Technology Group selected Willamette HDL in 2007 to develop examples for the OVM Kit and convert Advanced Verification Methodology (AVM) Cookbook examples to OVM.
"Willamette HDL consistently delivers exceptional training classes through well-planned lectures," says Dennis B. Brophy, director of strategic business development at Mentor Graphics. "Our customers' rapid and strong embrace of OVM comes with a similar demand for education that Willamette HDL fulfills."
OVM is based on the IEEE 1800 SystemVerilog standard and supports design and verification engineers who are developing advanced verification environments that offer higher levels of integration and portability of verification intellectual property (IP). It is open and includes a robust class library and source code.
"OVM is already having an impact on SystemVerilog verification," remarks Mike Baird, president of Willamette HDL. "This is an important and growing market and we're delighted to be named Mentor Graphics' primary training partner for OVM. We intend to train as many verification engineers as possible on the various ways to effectively use this methodology."
