Molecular Teams with Ernst & Young to Engage Gen Y Recruits with Personalized, Reality-based Web Experience
Business Wire, March 19, 2008
Newly-designed Microsite Uses In-depth Video, Interactive Career Modeling and Personal Journals to Bring Careers at Ernst & Young to Life
WATERTOWN, Mass. -- Molecular, Inc., a leading interactive agency, announced its recent collaboration with Ernst & Young LLP to launch "EY Insight" (http://www.ey.com/eyinsight/index.html), a fully interactive student careers microsite that provides engaging, personalized tools for prospective Ernst & Young employees. The redesigned site, specifically geared to appeal to today's generation of web-savvy Millenials (20-somethings), is a key piece of Ernst & Young's strategy to attract a broad talent base of approximately 10,000 new employees during 2008.
Ernst & Young charged Molecular with developing an online communication strategy that would differentiate Ernst & Young from its competitors, excite new recruits about success opportunities with the company, and provide them with an authentic glimpse into what a career with the leading professional services firm would offer.
"The needs of new recruits coming into the business market are quite different from those even five years ago," said Howard Kogan, president of Molecular. "It's fascinating to see how years of being raised on the Web has impacted the way this new generation searches for a job. For these young adults, on-campus recruiting isn't always enough - they want to see genuine examples of what the job and their lifestyle will really be like. Through our research and discovery process, we were able to identify the key priorities and outline a path for achieving Ernst & Young's business goals online, well before we started the creative process."
Molecular's comprehensive discovery phase explored the lifestyle, habits and preferences of job seeking students. Using insights from this research, the Molecular team collaborated with sister company Carat to create a concept that leverages the technologies and media that college students use in their everyday lives. Tools such as video interviews with current employees, photos and personal journals are used on EY Insight to appeal to an audience that has grown accustomed to highly personal media like YouTube and Facebook.
The EY Insight careers web site is really a suite of three tools designed to provide: in-depth views of Ernst & Young employees and the culture at the organization; a comprehensive overview of Ernst & Young's practice areas and opportunities available to job seekers based on their background and interests; and information on how to prepare for an interview. Features include:
* EY 360* - This engaging, rich online tool provides real stories and first-hand insight from employees on who they are and what they do, both inside and outside of the office. EY 360* includes "Day in the Life" and "Year in the Life" milestones captured through in-depth, full-screen videos, as well as personal photos and personal journals. The employees profiled represent a variety of the organization's practice areas and experience levels, with the goal of providing a sense of what it's like to work and have a personal life at Ernst & Young. To access this tool, visit www.ey.com/us/ey360.
> * Picture Yourself - This dynamic, interactive tool enables students to enter information on their academic background and interests, and generates customized results of relevant career opportunities. This tool provides students with a great opportunity to explore the company's practices and better understand what Ernst & Young has to offer, as well as see how to apply a current major to actual work at Ernst & Young. To access this tool, visit www.ey.com/us/pictureyourself.> * Interview Insider - This online resource center provides an interactive toolkit where students can prepare for the process of interviewing for their first job. Comprised of three basic sections, the toolkit provides a "one-stop shop" for interview resources, a gallery of key brochures about Ernst & Young, its practices and programs, and a quick and easy-to-install RSS news feed that allows students to sign up for syndication of Ernst & Young news. To access this tool, visit www.ey.com/us/interviewinsider.> Molecular will continue to work with Ernst & Young to enhance the EY Insight careers site later this year based on an analysis of the user experience and feedback from hires.About Molecular
