Expo to Address Possible Economic Challenges and Impact on Industry; Spotlight Innovators Demonstrating Excellence in Self Service Technology
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- KioskCom Self Service Expo and The Digital Signage Show have announced closing keynote speakers for their spring 2008 events taking place April 16 - 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The shows, which will be co-located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, will host a joint closing keynote session designed to help professionals in both specialties address how to effectively respond and react to the forecasted economic challenges confronting businesses across the country. In addition to a joint keynote, attendees will be given open admittance to both shows, providing them with unprecedented access to all sessions and speakers. Robert Fort, Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Technology for the Virgin Entertainment Group, Bradley Walker, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Nanonation, and Rob Garf, Vice President, Retaiul Strategies, AMR Research, will address these topics and offer insights based on their own recent experiences navigating through similar obstacles.
"The current economy and potential challenges that lie ahead have forced companies to rethink how they spend their advertising and technology dollars," said Lawrence Dvorchik, General Manager, KioskCom Self Service Expo and The Digital Signage Show. "Our goal with this joint presentation is to remind deployers and decision-makers that customer and employee facing technologies, such as kiosks and digital signage, are tools that demonstrate measurable results and can be utilized to improve business operations and profitability."
"Increased revenues, better customer experiences, improved operational efficiencies and reduced costs are all outcomes that have been demonstrated with properly planned and implemented deployments," adds Dvorchik. "We want to help educate attendees on the facts and evidence that are available to support them and help prepare them for any challenges they may face."
Also announced were finalists for the 2008 Self Service Excellence Awards which honor innovation in self-service business solutions and interactive digital media. Best Retail Deployment, Best Hospital Deployment, Best Travel / Hospitality Deployment and Best New Innovation in a Kiosk Deployment, are among the 11 total categories represented by the awards. 2008 finalists include: KIOSK Information Systems, Self-Service Networks, Source Technologies, Pay-Ease LLC, INFONOX, FOCUS ON EMOTIONS, MEI, SITA, Livewire International, Nanonation, Netkey, D2 Sales, Phreesia, Inc, Elo TouchSystems, NCR Corporation, MGM, Reality Interactive, Frank Mayer & Associates, Inc, CVD, Inc and Sonic Solutions.
"The Self Service Excellence Awards are unique because they maintain a fundamental focus on the success of self-service and interactive digital media solutions based on measurements shown by the deploying organization, and not just those who supply the technology," explains Dvorchik. "This year, we're honored to have such a diverse group of organizations represented in our awards competition, including: BMW, Ford, Alltel, Northwest Airlines, SoloHealth, Qflix, Mandalay Bay, Dave & Buster's, Foxwoods Resort and Live Nation, as it truly demonstrates how the power of self service technology resonates across a variety of industries and specialties."
Mirroring KioskCom Self Service Expo's strong 12-year standing as a valuable and critical resource in an organization's decision-making and implementation process, The Digital Signage Show will provide attendees with access to like-minded colleagues and thought leaders, new technologies, forums and case studies. Well-known companies including Harrah's Entertainment, Dave & Buster's, McCarran Airport, United States Postal Service, Vanguard Car Rental, Redbox, Avery Dennison, Sprint-Nextel, SuperShuttle, Rolls-Royce, Hollywood Entertainment, Mayo Clinic, Live Nation Inc. and SanDisk will participate in educational sessions during the April conferences.
