MediNotes Joins with Akamai Practice Management to Deliver Comprehensive EHR Systems for Physician Offices
Business Wire, March 24, 2008
Partners Increase Market Impact by Participating in Local Payer EHR Program
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- MediNotes Corporation, a leading provider of certified electronic health record (EHR) systems, today announced their partnership with Akamai Practice Management, LLC, a practice management and reimbursement service provider for independent physicians in Hawaii. Additionally, MediNotes and Akamai have become fully participating members in the Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA) Initiative for Innovation and Quality (HI-IQ), which provides assistance to physicians looking to acquire EHR systems.
According to Mark Service, co-founder and general manager of Akamai Practice Management, "Hawaii has a preponderance of small, independent practices and most EHR products aren't focused on the unique challenges presented in those settings. When looking for an EHR partner, we needed someone who could address the issues our clients face day-in and day-out. MediNotes' broad spectrum of discipline-specific content, implementation flexibility and commitment to excellent service provided the perfect fit."
MediNotes' industry proven EHR solution, MediNotes e, is a high-performance, ambulatory electronic medical record system that is built upon an intuitive interface with enterprise-class features such as automated workflow, internal messaging, patient tracking, health maintenance, ad-hoc reporting and role-based security.
"Together with Akamai, we will provide a best-of-breed EHR solution to Hawaiian physician practices of all sizes," said MediNotes CEO and President Donald G. Schoen. "Installed in more than 4,700 sites nationwide, MediNotes supplies the depth of experience and the breadth in EHR solutions that enables physicians to deliver a higher quality of care to their patients."
Both the Akamai partnership and the expanded HI-IQ membership have strengthened the demand for MediNotes' EHR solution in Hawaii, resulting in the addition of two staff members to implement and train new clients in the state. Currently, there are 20 Hawaiian physicians using MediNotes' EHR products, including MediNotes e version 5.2, a CCHIT Certified([R]) product for Ambulatory EHR 2007.
