Business Wire,  March 24, 2008

PC World Editors Deliver List of Best Free Downloads and Tools for Productivity, Entertainment, Security, and More

SAN FRANCISCO -- Today, PC World released its "101 Fantastic Freebies" article (http://find.pcworld.com/60411) which includes a variety of free services, downloadable software, productivity sites, security programs, and more. Two products were singled out as the best of the bunch; the Best Download goes to FreeRange FreeReader, for its speed and convenience of bringing RSS feeds to mobile devices, and the Best Service goes to Slacker, an extensive music site that makes finding and downloading music easier than ever. There is a forum discussion at http://find.pcworld.com/60393 where PCWorld.com visitors have a chance to share their own favorite freebies. The story is featured in PC World's May 2008 issue, available on newsstands April 15.

PC World editors sifted through scores of sites to find the 101 most interesting, useful, or fun free services and downloads. The 101 freebies are broken out into 12 categories and are denoted as either a service or download. In addition to being free, the 101 products and sites listed are functional, practical, and in some cases very entertaining. From office tools such as file storage systems and Web-based word processors to entertainment focused sites for music, video, games, environmental awareness, social networking and more, there is bound to be something for everyone. The article includes direct links to download each of the "downloads" and links to the publisher of each "service" so readers know exactly where to find any of the products listed.
