Parasoft's SOA Quality Solution Now Reduces Software Risks to the Banking and Payment Card Industry
MONROVIA, Calif. -- Parasoft, a leading provider of solutions and services that deliver quality as a continuous process throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), announced today native support for ISO 8583 messaging, a standard for exchanging financial transactions. Parasoft SOAtest--a key component of Parasoft's SOA Quality solution--now helps teams to establish and manage a consistent continuous quality process for the electronic payment systems so vital to business operations. This new capability is the latest extension to Parasoft's comprehensive, collaborative test and analysis solution, designed specifically for test and validation of Service Oriented Architectures.
With ISO 8583, the International Organization Standardization (ISO) specifies a standard for exchanging financial transaction data (e.g., for purchases, deposits, withdrawals, refunds, payments, etc.) between the transaction-acquiring device (e.g., a POS or ATM terminal) and the card issuer. The ISO 8583 standard also defines system-to-system messages for secure key exchanges, agreement of totals, and other business demands.
The new Parasoft SOAtest ISO 8583 capabilities provide an easy-to-use graphical interface for configuring binary message formats. Teams working on systems that exchange financial transactions can now leverage Parasoft SOAtest to simulate clients for sending and receiving ISO 8583 messages.
These establish a regression test suite that will immediately alert them when modifications impact these transactions, providing a safety net that reduces the risk of change and enables rapid and agile responses to business demands. This new release eliminates the need for scripting and enables teams to perform a more complete audit of the application's functionality, which reduces the risk of business downtime and ensures business continuity.
"Standards, such as ISO 8583, promote agility and interoperability. For teams working on evolving these systems to be truly productive, they require agile, flexible frameworks to test their implementations," stated Wayne Ariola, VP of Strategy for Parasoft. "Parasoft SOAtest has been extended to rapidly configure, send, receive and verify structured binary messages used in various verticals industries. This capability assists development organizations to achieve much more a complete verification of the process more rapidly."
