Merkle Signs Samsung as Email Marketing Client
Business Wire, March 25, 2008
Full-Service Relationship Includes Program Strategy, Creative, Analytics and Technology
LANHAM, Md. -- Merkle (www.merkleinc.com), one of the nation's largest and fastest growing database marketing agencies, today announced its selection by Samsung as its email marketing agency. As part of the agreement, Merkle is providing a complete range of services - including email program strategy development, creative design, email data management, message deployment and campaign analysis to support Samsung's permission-based email communications.
As Samsung's email marketing agency, Merkle will support multiple divisions for the global consumer technology leader, including Samsung Electronics America, Samsung Electronics Canada and Samsung Telecommunications America. Through cross-divisional collaboration Merkle will serve to coordinate Samsung's email efforts across the enterprise.
Kris Narayanan, director, integrated marketing, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. said, "We selected Merkle because they could provide a highly experienced team and a full-service engagement model that could support all components of our email marketing campaigns across divisions. Merkle also demonstrated to us that they have the track record to support our timelines, expectations and goals. Email represents a large opportunity to increase our direct engagement with customers, and we look forward to working with Merkle to take our programs to the next level."
Eric Kirby, senior vice president and general manager of Merkle's Interactive Services division, said, "The marketplace for consumer attention is extremely competitive, and we are finding that consumers will typically only engage with messages from a handful of select companies. Those companies that have entered a consumer's elite "inner circle" must plan effective communications that are not only relevant to the consumer but also clear, visually compelling and impactful. Samsung recognized that effective email marketing requires a highly developed, systematic approach. We are extremely pleased to be working closely with Samsung to meet their email marketing goals across North America."
