GlobalOptions Group Awarded Contract to Provide Strategic Advisory Services to Purple Tree Technologies

Business Wire,  March 26, 2008

Breakthrough Emergency Alert Response System Introduced to Education and Community Level Markets

NEW YORK -- GlobalOptions Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: GLOI), a leading provider of domestic and international risk management services, today announced that its Crisis Management and Preparedness Services unit, James Lee Witt Associates (JLWA), has been retained by Purple Tree Technologies, Inc., to provide strategic advisory services over the course of the next year.

James Lee Witt Associates will assist Purple Tree Technologies, a leader in developing advanced emergency alert response systems, in identifying target sectors and specific opportunities in communities where this technology would be most vital with an emphasis on corporate and educational environments. JLWA's team members possess unique experience and hands-on knowledge of partnership development and coalition building ability.

"When an emergency strikes, one of the most critical factors in saving lives is immediate, reliable notification so that people can stay informed and put emergency plans into action," said James Lee Witt, Chief Executive Officer of JLWA. "Purple Tree has developed an interoperable system that can transmit geo-specific emergency alerts in a matter of seconds and is not dependent on Internet-based text messaging or other signal redistribution systems that can interfere with the speed of delivery."

A small key fob developed by Purple Tree (approximately the size of a car key) can be used as a keychain and carried by individuals in their pockets, backpacks, purses or in their vehicles. When an emergency alert is sent, the device will display a warning light and text-screen message within seconds of the initial transmission.

"We are thrilled to have the support of James Lee Witt and his team in bringing this new technology to market," said Richard A. Happel, CEO of Purple Tree Technologies. "We are confident that Purple Tree's emergency response system can make a significant contribution in preparing communities, campuses and businesses for emergencies. James Lee Witt Associates has the experience, depth of knowledge and proven expertise to move this kind of technology forward in educational environments and at the community level where it can protect and save lives."

"With recent events around the country, such as tornadoes, hurricanes, and school shootings, this could not be a better time to promote the adoption of Purple Tree's emergency alert response technology," said Dr. Harvey Schiller, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, GlobalOptions Group, Inc. "It's smart technology and we look forward to working with Purple Tree and communities and campuses throughout the U.S. to face these types of emergencies head on."
