Wataire International Invited To Present to US Department Of Defense Foreign Comparative Testing Program
Business Wire, March 26, 2008
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. -- Wataire International Inc. (the "Company" or "Wataire") (Pink Sheets:WTAR) is pleased to announce that we were selected as one of the primary technology companies presenting to a Military delegation from Washington, D.C. last month in Vancouver, BC. The US DoD foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program reports to the Pentagon office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisitions, Technology & Logistics) DUSD, Advanced Systems & Concepts. For more information on the FCT see www.ctoacqcenter.com
The delegation was headed by the Director of the CTO, Colonel Robert J. Mattes, USAF who was accompanied by a panel of eight experts from other branches of the US Military, and by Major Rob Boucher, the Assistant Defense Cooperation Attache from Washington, D.C.
Monika E. Plettenberg, Program and Operations Officer for US Army International Technology Center-Americas in Ottawa selected Wataire International Inc. as one of the new technologies worthy of presenting to this prestigious panel of experts.
The event was organized by the Western Economic Diversification Fund out of Calgary and Vancouver. The focus was on equipment to better serve the frontline Warfighter from the safety, weapons and logistics perspective.
FCT funding has been responsible for more that US$8.5 billion in foreign purchasing and is eyed as a valuable program for US allies around the world that can offer valuable technological contributions in support of active US Warfighters.
FCT funding can be used for leasing or purchasing foreign equipment for test and evaluation as well as for the test program itself. After a FCT project is successfully completed, the sponsoring organization funds all costs for procurement and fielding.
The Wataire technology was presented to the delegation via the Company's Canadian office by co-inventor and R&D consultant Terrence Nylander. Mr. Nylander reported back to Wataire that the panel responded very positively to the technology "especially because we can produce drinking water right at the point of consumption" and demonstrated their interest by fully utilizing the allotted time for the presentation. Follow-up correspondence will take place to advance Wataire's concepts to the FCT program.
