Business Wire, March 3, 2008
Intelligent Redaction Server Removes Privacy Information from Documents in SharePoint[R] Document Libraries
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Informative Graphics Corporation (IGC), a leader in content visualization, collaboration and redaction technology, announced the release of its Redact-It[TM] Enterprise Server software for Microsoft[R] SharePoint[R]. Redact-It makes it easy to remove privacy information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, names, phone numbers and other sensitive or proprietary data before making documents available to a wider audience.
Redact-It is a highly scalable server for redacting document and image files on-demand or as part of a workflow. For example, Redact-It can monitor a Document Library for new files to be redacted and place them in a specified Library. Redact-It can search and redact against a list of words or phrases and comes with pre-defined macros for standard search items like names, social security numbers, phone numbers and monetary amounts. Admins can also create custom macros for specific organizational needs, like redacting credit card or account numbers.
"Stories of identity theft, data breaches and leaked corporate strategies are making headlines and are making companies more careful about how they share documents," said Gary Heath, President and CEO of IGC. "We made it easy to perform redactions either on-the-fly or as part of the normal workflow process to help reduce unintentional disclosure and meet privacy, accounting disclosure and other regulation requirements."
Redact-It features include:
* Redact any file format, including PDF and TIFF
* Output to PDF, TIFF, or Visual Rights[R]-secured CSF
* Add watermarks and print banners to output with metadata from SharePoint.
