Digital Defense Announces Major Service Launch with SEI OCTAVE Allegro Compliant Management Tool

Business Wire, March 3, 2008

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Digital Defense, Inc. (DDI), a provider of information security assessment services and Software as a Service (SaaS) security compliance solutions, today announced the launch of a multi-tiered Information Security Risk Assessment (ISRA) service portfolio. The ISRA offerings support organizations that need to evaluate their business environments to identify information security risks, but do not have the time or resources required to carry out such assessments unassisted.

At a time when information security continues to be of increasing importance to organizations of all types and sizes, DDI has introduced both a comprehensive service portfolio with several different levels of support, and a complementary management tool that accompanies the service engagement. The tool helps ensure that organizations perform risk assessments in a methodical, sound, and efficient manner, minimizing disruption to normal business operation. Additionally, the tool is very useful in providing proof of compliance for organizations governed by regulatory bodies mandating this type of evaluation on a recurring basis.

"We have been using DDI's ISRA onsite service and automated risk assessment tool and it has proven to be both a time and money saver for MAX," explained H. Greg McClellan, president and Chief Executive Officer at MAX Credit Union. "Digital Defense was extremely helpful in working with us to initiate the daunting task of performing our ISRA. With the services and management tool that DDI developed, we can now effectively evaluate and mitigate information security risks found within our business operations. We have been extremely pleased with the results."

Digital Defense has been providing ISRA consulting services since 2005. The addition of the ISRA workflow management tool, combined with an expanded set of risk assessment services, enables financial institutions and enterprises of all sizes to affordably assess and manage their information security risk.

"We are delighted to roll out our expanded set of ISRA services to the public," stated Larry R. Hurtado, president and CEO of Digital Defense. "The positive feedback that we have received from clients on the effectiveness of our initial service engagements is extremely satisfying for the entire DDI team, and we look forward to the continuation of this major program rollout. We are also deeply grateful to the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (SEI) for their review of our ISRA management tool to confirm its compliance with the OCTAVE([R]) Allegro methodology. We believe that providing a broad array of ISRA services along with an OCTAVE Allegro compliant management tool will best serve organizations in our target markets."

Digital Defense offers several forms of ISRA solutions including Webinars and both on-site and off-site consulting engagements. Each solution type includes, at no additional charge, the use of the state-of-the-art workflow management tool that helps the user organize and manage risk assessment data about their business operation. The workflow management tool also produces reports used to meet security compliance requirements.
