Growth Rate and Success of the World's Largest Privately-Owned Language Services Company Drives Shawe's Recognition as One of New York's Most Promising Business Leaders
NEW YORK -- Phil Shawe, the Co-Founder of TransPerfect, was named to the prestigious "40 Under 40" list today by Crain's New York Business. Shawe, who started the language services company in a New York University dorm room in 1992 with his business partner, Elizabeth Elting, has guided the company's growth from start-up to global leader with more than 50 offices and over $156 million in annual revenue in 2007.
"I'm humbled by receiving this recognition in an environment such as New York City that is home to so many outstanding business leaders. However, I certainly cannot take the credit for the success that made this recognition possible. In the 15 years since founding TransPerfect, it has been my privilege to work with some of the most professional men and women in our industry. Every day our team advances the global businesses objectives of our clients. It is their outstanding work that is truly worthy of recognition." Shawe continued, "It is with profound thanks to the 800 professionals working at TransPerfect that I accept this honor."
Crain's "40 under 40" is an annual list of 40 people who have achieved tremendous success in business in New York before turning 40.
