Sourcefire 3D[TM] System Delivers Network Security Required to Facilitate Leading Airline's Aggressive Growth Strategy
COLUMBIA, Md. -- Open source innovator and SNORT([R]) creator, Sourcefire, Inc. (Nasdaq:FIRE), a leader in network intrusion prevention, today announced that JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) has replaced its previous first-generation Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) with the Sourcefire 3D System. With over 50 airport locations, multiple data centers and plans for continued growth, JetBlue has implemented Sourcefire's Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and is rolling out Sourcefire's Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) solutions to protect against both known and unknown threats.
"As JetBlue continues to expand operations, we need a comprehensive and scalable solution that can address security within our data centers and at each of our airport locations," said Justin Searle Information Security Analyst at JetBlue Airways. "The Sourcefire 3D System provides us with the visibility we need to secure our critical systems."
JetBlue is deploying Sourcefire RNA, the company's leading NBA solution, to deliver real-time visibility into all of the assets throughout its distributed environment and help eliminate the risk of unauthorized systems being added to its wired and wireless networks. Using RNA's continuous knowledge of all network end-points, JetBlue can now identify and locate any new system connecting anywhere on its network, and can quickly conduct a system assessment to determine whether a computer is authorized and adheres to corporate policies. If a computer is in violation of any policies, JetBlue can block it from accessing the network or initiate an update to eliminate violations or vulnerabilities.
To help ensure that assets are secured within the data center and at all distributed entry points, JetBlue is implementing Sourcefire 3D Sensors throughout its internal network and at all of its airport terminals. Sourcefire enables JetBlue to centrally manage these sensors through a single Sourcefire Defense Center located in one of its data centers. This provides JetBlue the ability to correlate all vulnerability and threat data from across the network and update its security policies and device settings in real time.
"The Sourcefire 3D System's unique combination of IPS and NBA technologies enables our customers to securely expand their network operations without worrying whether their assets are protected," said Tom McDonough, President and COO of Sourcefire. "By providing JetBlue with increased visibility into the security of its data centers and airport terminal networks, Sourcefire is enabling the company to easily expand its network and increase capabilities at its airport terminals, without worrying about the security of its critical customer information."
