FalconStor Software and Total Tec Systems Announce Strategic Partnership to Ensure Business Continuity for the Mid-Sized and Enterprise Market

Total Tec Will Provide FalconStor's Suite of TOTALLY Open[TM] Storage Virtualization and Data Protection Appliance Solutions Based on HP Server Platform

MELVILLE, N.Y. -- FalconStor Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: FALC), the only provider of TOTALLY Open[TM] network storage solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Total Tec Systems, a leading systems integrator, to distribute FalconStor storage virtualization appliances and data protection appliances to the mid-market. Total Tec will offer the FalconStor([R]) Virtual Tape Library (VTL) Storage Appliances with embedded data de-duplication, the FalconStor Continuous Data Protector([TM]) (CDP) Storage Appliances, and the FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) Appliances for environments using HP servers and HP storage. Integration will be done at Total Tec Systems' Edison, New Jersey integration facility, the largest storage integration facility on the East Coast.

FalconStor VTL Storage Appliances are designed to offer lightning-fast backup with enterprise-class reliability and efficiency to allow users the ability to back up data with little to no interruption in activity and to leverage de-duplication to keep more data on-line for longer periods of time. They support both physical tape drives and virtual tape libraries and integrate seamlessly with the FalconStor VTL Enterprise Edition. This allows remote offices to replicate virtual tapes over the WAN to the corporate data center for centralized management or compliance.

FalconStor CDP Storage Appliances provide complete data protection and continuous data availability across both physical and virtual systems, effectively eliminating backup windows and the need for mandatory restores, to deliver true business continuity. The appliances incorporate mirroring, application-aware snapshots, and database agents to ensure the continuous availability of mission-critical data.

The FalconStor NSS Appliances deliver fast and simple iSCSI or Fibre Channel (FC) storage. NSS appliances provide storage virtualization, provisioning, and heterogeneous storage management. All models include FalconStor TimeMark([R]) snapshot capabilities for fast recovery to known good points in time.

The FalconStor VTL Virtual Appliance and the FalconStor CDP Virtual Appliance are both pre-configured, ready-to-run software applications packaged with the operating system inside a virtual machine running under VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3. Total Tec will also offer FalconStor CDP and VTL Virtual Appliances for VMware Virtual Infrastructure.
