Masons of California Web Site from Arami Design a Hit

Business Wire, March 5, 2008

New System for Fraternal Organization Is Portal for Thousands

SAN CARLOS, Calif. -- With a mission of promoting personal growth, community service and support for numerous Masonic philanthropies, the Masons of California boast more than 65,000 members and 340 lodges throughout the state. Those who use the organization's online services found a newly made-over site this week with new features and improved navigational tools, as well as a more refined site that includes expansive information for the public.

"When we needed something fresh, we liked the way Arami Design had built innovative solutions for complex Web site problems," said Allan Casalou, Executive Director, Grand Lodge of California. "We have 50,000 visitors to freemason.org each month, and the initial reaction to our new site is that it is easier to navigate and more informative for the public."

Among the public resources is a history of the world's first and largest fraternity, an interactive map feature for locating California lodges and access to the California Masonic Foundation's Scholarship Center, which has assisted more than 2,000 students through four-year college scholarship awards.

News and events includes the California Freemason magazine online, press information and a convenient calendar showing the Grand Master's itinerary. The site's Member Center includes resources and programs for leadership, education and membership development.

About the Masons of California

The first lodges in California were organized in the late 1840s during the Gold Rush days and multiplied rapidly thereafter. In 1850 -- the same year that California became a state -- the Grand Lodge of California was established in Sacramento. You may visit the Grand Lodge of California's Web site at www.freemason.org.
