Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood Awards Corporate Philanthropy Award to Farmers Insurance

LOS ANGELES -- Farmers Insurance Group of Companies was awarded the Corporate Philanthropy Award by the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood during an Awards Gala held at the famed Beverly Hills Hotel February 28th.

"We are presenting our Corporate Philanthropy Award to Farmers Insurance Group for its decades of outstanding community leadership which has made a significant impact on the lives and futures of the young people served by the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood," noted Julie Hite, Vice President of Development for the Boys and Girls Club.

Farmers CEO Paul N. Hopkins accepted the award and said, "I'm pleased to accept this award on behalf of the 40,000 men and women who make up the Farmers family. Farmers is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year at its home office location on mid-Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Los Angeles. Community involvement is important to us, and the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood holds a special place in our hearts," he added.

Concluding his comments, Hopkins gave thanks to the Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood. "We're proud of the work you do in our community and we're glad to support you in any way we can. Speaking for every Farmers man and woman, thank you for honoring us with your first-ever Corporate Philanthropy Award. And thank you for helping our area's children build a successful future."

Bim Braddock, long time Farmers employee spoke about his family being passionately involved with Farmers for over 75 years and with the Boys and Girls Club for over 50 years. "It has been a true pleasure to serve on the Boys and Girls Club in Hollywood years ago, and watch it grow into a true organization helping youth in the Hollywood area."

The Boys and Girls Club of Hollywood currently provides tutoring, homework assistance, computer training, sports, social recreation, education, mentoring and much more for over 1900 kids, ages 6 to 18.
