Business Wire, March 7, 2008
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Weyerhaeuser Company (NYSE:WY) today announced that it has accelerated plans to permanently close its Green Mountain Sawmill in Toutle, Wash. due to weak demand for wood products.

The planned facility closure, which affects 100 associates, was a difficult decision according to Rob Taylor, vice president of iLevel Lumber Technology. Affected associates will be counseled on specific details regarding benefits.
"Weyerhaeuser made the difficult decision to close this plant," Taylor said. "This is an exceptional workforce," he said. "Our associates worked diligently to make this mill safe and productive."
