Business Wire, May 12, 2008
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Nitta Casings of Somerville, New Jersey and Islamic Services of America ("ISA") Cedar Rapids, Iowa are proud to present a ground breaking innovation -- an industry first Halal collagen casing for further processed meat products.
Nitta Casings, the leader in Natural and Collagen casings first approached ISA, the first North American and most recognized USA Halal service provider, with Nitta's vision to jointly develop and produce a Halal Source Verified casing product. The project was a culmination of nearly one year's worth of effort which has now been internationally recognized by winning the Halal Journal's prestigious, "Best New Halal Product" award presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The award was presented at the annual World Halal Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Monday, May 12, 2008.
To ensure source verification, ISA's highly trained and experienced representatives perform authentic and verifiable Halal slaughters. ISA diligently performs product traceability and verification procedures throughout the production process with superior detailed documentation.
In addition, Nitta decided to brand the Halal casings under the Midamar name which is known globally as America's Favorite Halal Brand. The branding message under the Midamar name resonates well within consumer and industry markets.
