SolarWinds Joins Riverbed Technology Alliance

AUSTIN, Texas -- Today, SolarWinds, a leading provider of downloadable, enterprise-class network management software, announced that it joined the Riverbed Technology Alliance (RTA); select groups comprised of complementary technology companies who share a common vision of delivering significant performance and savings as customers increasingly use the wide area network (WAN) to enable global business. "Riverbed delivers the industry's most comprehensive WDS solutions," said Venugopal Pai, senior director, alliances at Riverbed. "Riverbed customers who deploy SolarWinds' network management software will be able to manage resources more efficiently, resulting in a reduction of operational costs and better monitoring and management of user performance."

In addition to monitoring and configuration support for Steelhead appliances offered by SolarWinds' Orion and Cirrus products, Riverbed[R] customers will be able to leverage SolarWinds NetFlow Traffic Analyzer in conjunction with NetFlow technology on the Steelhead appliance for greater visibility into network traffic behavior and trends on their WAN links. Additionally, SolarWinds roadmap includes delivering unique reporting capabilities in Orion to show how much bandwidth savings resulted from the use of the Steelhead appliances.
