2008 Report Evaluates Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision
HOUSTON -- NetIQ Corporation, an Attachmate business, today announced that Gartner, Inc., positioned NetIQ in the "Leaders" quadrant for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
Gartner's Magic Quadrant report evaluates vendors on their ability to execute, as well as their completeness of vision. Overall viability, sales execution and pricing were some of the criteria evaluated for the vendors' ability to execute. Criteria related to completeness of vision included market understanding and sales strategy.
In the recently released report1, Gartner asserts that "an optimal solution will support the real-time collection and analysis of log data from host systems, security devices and network devices; will support long-term storage and reporting; will not require extensive customization; and will be easy to support and maintain."
"We are thrilled to be recognized within the 'Leaders' quadrant, said Chris Pick, vice president of Products and Marketing, NetIQ. "NetIQ views this distinction as further validation that our vision of extending traditional SIEM capabilities with user and resource access monitoring is addressing the needs of the market. As compliance programs necessitate additional layers of host and data protection, Security Manager is uniquely positioned to meet these demands, while serving as the foundation for security management best practices."
NetIQ[R] Security Manager[TM] provides superior data protection for the enterprise, combining security event management, privileged user management, and sophisticated log analysis in one console. With an integrated, scalable architecture, NetIQ Security Manager uniquely satisfies numerous enterprise compliance mandates while enabling the automation of security activity reviews, log preservation, change auditing and incident response.
