Social Networking, Content Management and E-Mail Marketing Integration to Help Strengthen Alumni Relations

TORONTO -- Today iModules Software announced that the University of Toronto, the largest university in Canada with over 400,000 alumni, has selected the online community provider for the university's online alumni relations and institutional advancement needs. The University of Toronto now joins nearly 600 other institutions that host more than twelve million members using the company's community solutions.

The selection of Encompass from iModules follows a detailed evaluation of over a dozen different solution providers. Each product was evaluated on the strength of many variables including social and professional networking features, content management capabilities, e-mail marketing functionality, and its ability to support a large, decentralized institution. As part of the solution, iModules will maintain a hosting facility in Canada to meet strict privacy protection requirements.

"Encompass will play a key role in our objective to create an interactive, personalized online experience for our alumni and friends," said Brendan Dellandrea, Manager, Alumni and Friends Webspace at the University of Toronto. "This project is about encouraging alumni engagement, and about providing opportunities for alumni to connect with the university and each other in a variety of new and exciting ways. We're confident that Encompass is the right platform for this project, thanks in part to the technical innovation that iModules has demonstrated in this field."

Encompass from iModules Software is the latest release of its online community framework. From a single web-based application, institutions can now manage their online alumni and affinity communities, events and event registration, fundraising, e-mail marketing, and deliver general and personalized web content, along with the ability to process online forms.

"Since inception our sole mission has been to develop and support the premier integrated tool for online communities. Being selected by a leading institution like the University of Toronto demonstrates our success and our leadership role in the market," said Tom DeBacco, CEO of iModules Software.

Over the past several months, the University of Toronto and iModules have been working together to build and implement the university's next generation web site. The new site and online community will be launched around its annual Spring Reunion, just in time for this year's graduating class.
